AI Can Now Steal Your Password and You Won’t Believe How!
A recent study has revealed a new AI-driven hacking method that guesses passwords by listening to what people type on their keyboards.
Researchers involved in the study used machine learning algorithms to create a system able to identify keyboard inputs based on sound.
They pressed each of the 36 keys on a MacBook Pro—letters and numbers—25 times in a row, using different fingers and pressures, and recorded the sounds via Zoom call and smartphones.
The team fed this data into the machine learning system which learned to recognise key-specific acoustic features over time.
And the results were simply shocking!
It was revealed the system accurately matched the right key to its sound in 95% of phone call recordings and 93% of Zoom call recordings.
