But in 2020, it changed its revenue model. The company shifted to a freemium SAAS model where it charged its users to pay to create apps.
As of date, the IFTTT pricing model has three tiers:
- Free: You get 2 applets but cannot create your own.
- Pro ($2.99/month or $35.88/year): You can create up to 20 applets with multi-action support, webhooks, and the fastest execution speeds.
- Pro+ ($8.99/month or $107.88/year): You get unlimited applets, AI services with 200 AI queries per day, filter code, queries, and priority support.
The jump from Free to Pro is a tenfold increase in applet capacity. You also get faster polling (5 minutes versus 60 on Free) and the ability to chain multiple actions in one applet. Pro+ removes all applet limits and adds AI-powered services on top.
But the consumer side is not where the real revenue comes from.
