You want one ready-made skill that works in Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex without digging through junk. Every claude skills marketplace you land on claims to be the place to get it. The install counts look impressive. They also mean almost nothing, because the same skill gets copied into dozens of repos and each copy racks up its own tally. This list compares the five places people actually use, from the user side, not the marketing side.
To find the picks, we scouted the internet for the skills real humans actually rate: Hacker News threads, YouTube walkthroughs, developer blogs, and security write-ups from researchers who looked inside these marketplaces. The good reports and the bad ones both made it in.
The Rundown
- You Need One Skill That Works In Every Agent You Use: skills.sh. Run one command and it drops the skill into every agent you use.
- You Want Skills Someone Has Already Picked Over: Claude Plugin Directory. Install Anthropic-picked plugins and skills straight from inside Claude Code.
- You Want To See What Exists Before You Write Your Own: GitHub Awesome Lists. Scout the skills, agents and plugins that already exist before you write your own.
- You Need A Niche Skill Nobody Has Ranked Yet: SkillsMP. Search millions of public SKILL.md files by keyword, category or occupation.
- Your OpenClaw Agent Needs A Ready-Made Skill: ClawHub. Add ready-made skills and plugins to your OpenClaw agent with one install command.
The Best Claude Skills Marketplaces, Ranked

skills.sh
Price | Free, MIT-licensed CLI |
Install | npx skills add owner/repo |
Platforms | Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI and 15+ other agents |
Best for | Finding a skill that installs into Claude Code, Cursor, Codex and more with one command |
The problem. You build a solid skill in Claude Code. Open Cursor or Codex and it is not there, so you copy the files over by hand.
What it does. skills.sh fixes that with one command. Type npx skills add vercel-labs/agent-skills. The CLI finds the coding agents on your machine and drops each skill where that agent expects it. npx skills update pulls the newest version. Skills get listed on the site on their own, and the leaderboard ranks them by install count.
What people found
- Dan Stroot liked the setup at launch: โNo configuration. No fiddling with file paths. It just works.โ They also called the top skillโs install count โkind of cheatingโ, since it shipped inside the installer.
- A developer on Hacker News took a few skills from skills.sh and tweaked them. Now the agent suggests the next slice of a side project. They approve it, and it writes the slice and a task plan.
- Zaneโs review on vibecoding.app says nothing is submitted or approved, and install-count ranking โcan be gamed and doesnโt correlate with qualityโ. Every indexed skill is scanned by Gen Agent Trust Hub, Socket and Snyk.
- A developer on Hacker News has the opposite take: โagent skills are usually pure slopโ, and browsing a topic you know well leaves you โa bit disheartenedโ.
- Ry Walkerโs research page reports that Trail of Bits researchers bypassed Vercelโs malicious-skill detector and got data-exfiltrating skills marked safe.
Skip it if you trust install counts. A search on 4 November 2026 for frontend-design returned Anthropicโs original at 1,071,317 installs, plus 74 other entries named exactly frontend-design in the first 100 results. Those copies together showed 111,071 installs. Check the owner before you install, and skip this one if you want a human to have vetted what you get.

Claude Plugin Directory
Price | Free directory, plugins vary |
Install | /plugin install name@claude-plugins-official |
Platforms | Claude Code, plus Claude apps and Cowork for some plugins |
Best for | Installing Anthropic-picked plugins and skills straight inside Claude Code |
The problem. You open a skills marketplace and it is a wall of repos nobody has checked. What you want is the set someone has already picked over.
What it does. Anthropicโs official marketplace, claude-plugins-official, is already wired into Claude Code. Type /plugin with no name and a tab opens with everything on offer. Type /plugin install commit-commands@claude-plugins-official and Claude Code pulls up that pluginโs details, so you pick a scope before it installs, per Anthropicโs plugin docs. A plugin can bundle skills, agents, hooks and MCP servers. The web directory listed 528 Claude Code plugins on 4 November 2026, many with an Anthropic verified mark, including Superpowers, Frontend Design and Code Review.
What people found
- A developer on Hacker News plans complex features with Superpowers: Claude writes the spec, they hand it to GPT to spot errors over many rounds, then Claude implements.
- A developer on Hacker News shipped their skills as a plugin and added their git repo as a marketplace: โThe installation is effortlessโ, no symlinks to manage across machines.
- A developer on Hacker News hit two Anthropic marketplaces and had to post the exact commands before the LSP plugins would install.
- A developer on Hacker News had no /plugin command and says โClaude itself is not able to tell me how to install it.โ
Skip it if Claude Code is not where you do most of your work, since this catalog targets Claude Code first. And do not treat the official label as a safety check. Anthropicโs plugin security docs say a marketplace name only tells you who publishes the catalog. It does not tell you what a plugin does, so read it before installing.

GitHub Awesome Lists
Price | Free |
Install | Follow each linked repoโs own install steps |
Platforms | Claude Code mainly, with links for Codex, Cursor and Gemini CLI |
Best for | Scouting what skills, agents and plugins already exist for a task |
The problem. You are about to write a skill from scratch. Then it hits you: someone has probably built this already, and you just cannot find it.
What it does. An awesome list is a README on GitHub that links out to other repos, sorted by category. The hand-picked awesome-claude-code list covers skills, agents, status lines, tooling and plugins for Claude Code. Say you want a changelog skill: hit Ctrl+F, type โchangelogโ, open the repo that fits, and follow its own install steps. Nothing installs from the list itself. ComposioHQโs awesome-claude-skills goes wider, calling itself 1000+ Claude skills and plugins while also promoting Composioโs paid MCP Gateway.
What people found
- The AI Resource Libraryโs review of ComposioHQโs list (22 April 2026) rates it for scouting before you write a skill. But it says โentries are listed, not vettedโ. Serious libraries and one-off experiments sit side by side. It also warns the list goes stale quickly.
- A developer on Hacker News sends people to the awesome-claude-code list, but says it โstill requires a lot of curation and end-user experimentationโ.
- A developer on Hacker News pulled a few subagents from the VoltAgent awesome-claude-code-subagents list and had to modify them. Now and then they helped, but mostly โthey did just as well as the main agentโ while being far more verbose.
- A developer on Hacker News said in October 2025 that open source work would stay in Awesome-* collections for now, since skills move too fast for a rigid package manager.
Skip it if you want one vetted install command. Every entry is a repo you judge yourself, and the Composio automations on that list need a Composio API key and run through their cloud.

SkillsMP
Price | Free search; paid API and export plans from US$99 a year |
Install | Copy the install command or follow the source repo |
Platforms | Any agent that reads SKILL.md: Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and more |
Best for | Searching millions of public SKILL.md files by job or keyword |
The problem. You need a skill for something narrow: a Jira cleanup, an insurance claim template, a grant report. Ranked directories only surface what thousands of people already installed, so that one skill stays invisible.
What it does. SkillsMP searches raw SKILL.md files instead of curated listings. Its About page says it has collected 3M+ of them from public GitHub repos and lets you search by keyword, by category or across 800+ occupations. Type your job or keyword and results come back with the creator and repo on each one, so you judge the source before opening it. There is an API, and the project calls itself an independent community project, not affiliated with Anthropic.
What people found
- A developer on Hacker News counted 77K+ skills indexed in January 2026 and liked the developer-style UI, though they said โthe UX could use workโ: the search sat behind cryptic command-style buttons.
- A developer on Hacker News bounced off it fast: โthe website is just too confusing to me to understand a thing.โ
- A SkillsBench researcher on Hacker News pulled the metadata behind the 99k skills indexed at the time and, after filtering and deduplicating, kept about 40k+ as relevant. They say most skills on the internet are useless.
Skip it if you want quality signals built in. The About page says SkillsMP does not rush to judge skills, so every file is yours to check. The raw index also holds copies and junk. The researcherโs 99k shrank to about 40k+ after filtering and deduplicating. Search on the website is free, while bulk exports and API searches beyond the free daily allowance need a paid plan from US$99 a year.

ClawHub
Price | Free |
Install | clawhub install skill-name, or ask your OpenClaw agent |
Platforms | OpenClaw |
Best for | Adding skills and plugins to an OpenClaw agent |
The problem. Your OpenClaw agent hits a task it has no skill for, like a daily digest from your tickets. Writing one yourself is an afternoon you would rather not spend.
What it does. ClawHub is the skills and plugins marketplace for OpenClaw. Type clawhub install skill-name and the skill lands in your agent, or ask the agent to find and install one. Each skill page shows a security scan, comments, past versions and a zip download. VirusTotal and ClawScan screening arrived after the malware reports.
What people found
- Evgeny Saveliev on YouTube shows the routine before installing: open the skill page, check the security scan, read the comments, compare versions, or take the zip and check it yourself. Anyone can upload. That is the good part and the bad part, since some skills hide viruses. They also recall fake skills with inflated download counts where the top one was a virus.
- A developer on Hacker News who wrote a security write-up on ClawHub found the top downloaded skill at the time told users to install an openclaw-core package, and both links led to malware.
- A developer on Hacker News says โOver 15% of ClawHub skills were malicious at one pointโ, the most downloaded included.
- Palo Alto Networks Unit 42 found five malicious skills still unblocked between February and May 2026, after the new screening. Two delivered macOS infostealers. OpenClaw banned the accounts and deleted the skills after the report.
Skip it if you will not read a listing before installing. The new screening helps, but five malicious skills got past it months later. This one is for people who check the scan, the comments and the zip every single time.
Which Claude Skills Marketplace To Use First
If Claude Code is where you do most of your work, start in the Claude Plugin Directory. Anthropic picks what goes in, and it is already built into Claude Code, so there is nothing extra to set up. Type /plugin to browse it and install from there.
Head to skills.sh second, and only for a skill the directory does not have. Start in its Official section and check the audit row before anything else. That is the closest thing to a safety check it has.
Treat the GitHub lists and SkillsMP as browsing tools, not places to install blind. Every entry there is a repo you judge for yourself, and copies pile up fast.
ClawHub is for OpenClaw users only, and only for the ones who read the scan, the comments and the zip on every single listing.
New to this and need the actual install steps? Here is how to add skills to Claude.
